Marketing 911 - Educate Market and Sell

Filed Under Pet Business Marketing | 3 Comments

Shama posted a great video on her blog Shama.tv today that I wanted to share as it fits so well for Marketing Monday.

Your marketing should always consist of 3 vital elements:

1) Educate - tell the consumer about your product and provide valuable information to them

2) Market - get the word out about your product or service

3) Sell - include a call to action to get people to buy

To increase the effectiveness of your marketing make sure that any promotional materials you use to promote your pet sitting business includes these 3 elements.  This includes business cards, flyers, websites, and posters.

Shama has many more great marketing suggestions at her blog. Take a look at Marketing 911-EMS and some of her past video entries here at http://www.Shama.tv.com

9 Ways to Increase Your Pet Sitting Business Income

Filed Under Pet Business Tips, Pet Sitting Business Tips | 7 Comments

Quick Tip ThursdayWe had a great first mastermind call last night and one of the topics we discussed was how to add services or products to your pet sitting business to increase your business revenue. Here are a few quick tips :

1. Raise your prices - if you haven’t raised your prices in the last 12 months why not revisit what you charge for a vacation visit or dog walk.  Look carefully at the value you offer your customers and compare it to what is offered by your competitors.  Raising your price by $1-$2 per visit can dramatically increase your income.

2. Offer group dog walks or adventure hikes for dogs

3. Offer add on services such as nail clipping or dog washing

4. Put together VIP packages that offer your clients more convenience and pamper the pets

5. Offer delivery of pet foods, kitty litter, or other pet supplies

6. Teach pet first aid classes - get certified at http://www.pettech.net

7. Learn pet massage and offer as an add on service

8. Organize pet parties at a local day care or dog park

9. Offer longer visits for more playtime or longer walks

Let me know if you offer any other extras that bring more income into your pet sitting business - or if you just have some more ideas.  Just add your comment below!
