Here’s a bonus pet health tip:

Don’t let your dogs near your penny collection! Pennies produced since 1982 may be fatal if swallowed by a dog because they contain zinc. Also nuts and bolts contiain zinc and don’t easily pass through the digestive system. They sit in the stomach and are dissolved by the stomach acids, slowly poisoning the pet. Symptoms include jaundice, vomiting and difficulty in breathing. If you suspect a dog has ingested pennies or any other foreign objects, have the pet x-rayed.

If you live in Dallas Fort Worth or surrounds I will be holding a Pet Tech PetSaver class at the Tarrant County Chamber of Commerce on Saturday July 25th from 8am to 4pm.  I’m offering specially discounted prices for this class - for details please contact me at 817 692 4404 or via email at daniellechonody@gmail.com

What Can a Virtual Assistant Do For Your Pet Sitting Business?

Filed Under Pet Business Coaching, Pet Business Success Circle | Leave a Comment

This month on November 20th for my Pet Business Success Cirlce coaching club I am interviewing Laura Allen. Laura is a virtual assistant who graduated from the AssistU program. I have just started working with Laura to create more business systems and grow my online business. She is dedicating 10 hours of her time every month to work on my team.

This is my second week working with Laura and I’m already seeing a big turn around in my pet sitting business as we get some things taken care of that I have been letting fall through the cracks lately.

On the call I will asking Laura to answer the following questions:

From your experience in pet care what are the typical challenges faced
by the owner of a small pet care business?

What types of tasks can you perform for the owner of a pet sitting
business that makes their business run smoother and gives them more
time to focus on important tasks?

What are some of the ways that you help to market their pet sitting business?

How many hours do you normally work for your clients each month?

What type of results or improvements have you seen in the businesses
of the other clients that you work with?

What qualities should a pet sitter look for when they are searching
for a new virtual assistant?

Her answers, and our discussion,  will give you a good idea if working with a VA is right for your business, and if so, you’ll know which tasks a VA can help you with, and how to find a great VA.

Of course if you join us for the call live you will have the chance to ask Laura your own questions at the end of the call.  If you can’t make it in person you can still get a recording of the call, a full written transcript,  and my action checklist after the call at the members download area.

If you have tasks you know you need to be doing but just don’t have enough time (that was me!) then a virtual assistant could be just the right addition to your pet business.  Find out on this call and get your questions answered for just a $7 sign up fee to join the Pet Business Success Circle.

WIth your sign up you will also get access to the recordings, transcripts, and action checklists to our 5 calls. It’s a very small price to charge I know, but I want you to be successful in your business - and so do the pets!

August Pet Business Expert Live Interview - Working with Contractors with Peggie Arvidson of Peggie’s Pets

Filed Under Pet Business Coaching, Pet Business Interviews, Pet Business Success Circle | 2 Comments

Pet Expert InterviewThis month for my Pet Business Success Circle Coaching program I am interviewing Peggie Arvidson of Peggie’s Pets Virginia.  We will be discussing working with contract pet sitting staff.

Hiring independent contractors as pet sitters is a controversial topic that is always discussed at pet sitting conferences and events. By using contractors you avoid a lot of paperwork, don’t have to pay workers compensation, or collect employment taxes for your sitters. However, you must follow the IRS guidelines for contractors or risk an audit and the threat of paying back taxes.

Peggie is an expert when it comes to hiring and working with contract pet sitters. We’ll be discussing her systems for hiring, managing and retaining contract sitting staff and I’ll also sneak in some questions about the sale of her pet sitting business earlier this year.

If you want to know the ins and outs of using contract staff and want to make sure you do it the right way - and avoid the scrutiny of the IRS - come join us on the call tomorrow night Tuesday 19th August at 7pm central.  You will also have the opportunity at the end of the interview to ask Peggie your questions about working with contractors.

All you need to do to join us is to sign up for the $7 trial offer of the Pet Business Success Circle.  When you activate your membership you will be sent the call in details. As a member you will also receive full access to recordings and transcripts of my past calls with Leslie May of Pawsible Marketing, and Sam Brown of Boarding as a Business.

If you can’t make it to the call live don’t worry - all members also recieve the recording of the call and a full written transcript of the call so that you can learn from Peggie at your convenience.

To join just visit http://www.petbusinesssuccesscircle.com today and sign up for your trial membership test drive.
