I hope that you set up a system for collecting sparkling testimonials from you customers. If not – take a look at this previous post and download a free customer feedback form.

Most websites highlight customer testimonials on a special testimonial page – and I used to do this too on my old pet sitting site. But what if a potential customer visiting your site doesn’t visit that page? What if they only take time to read your home page? They will be missing all those great referrals and reasons why they should use your service.
Don’t keep those testimonials hidden away! Sprinkle some on EVERY page of your website. Try to make the testimonials that you use on a specific page match with the topic of the page. For example – on your about page use testimonials that talk about your character or the values of the business.
A couple of weeks ago when my new Protecting Max pet sitting website was created I went through my recent testimonials and did the sprinkle – take a look here. Actually, now that I look again – I could do a better job, there is more sprinkling to be done!
I like the way they look and break up the site and I also like the way they reinforce what I’m telling the visitor in the main text. Remember testimonials add credibility to your claims. Make sure you use your best ones on you home page as that’s where most visitors will start their investigation of you and your service.
Don’t forget to still include your testimonials page – this is where you can put oodles and oodles of testimonials to really impress upon them how many happy customers you have!
Testimonials are always a good idea. I am using a slideshow to do that on one of my sites. Maybe that is something you might consider…that way it can be updated without a lot of additional work.
How does the slideshow idea work? Can you tell me which site so I can take a look?
Your new web site looks fantastic Danielle!
Thanks Carrie – I have to give all the credit to Angela Wills of Starva.com. She put the site together using WordPress so it is really easy for me to edit. WordPress is actually a blogging software – the one I use right here for Working with Pets.
