Thanksgiving is one of the busiest times of the year for my pet sitting business as it is for most pet sitting business owners. This year I had 4 contract sitters working with me to handle the rush so that I could also spend some time with my father and step-mom that visited us for 3 days from Lousianna.
This year everything went very smoothly – we did have some clients who called to let us know they came home early, but we didn’t have any sick pets, no alarms that went off, no pets that woudn’t eat, or any problem dogs that tore up the house. I did have an outside cat with existing eye problems that developed a very bloodshot eye. I consulted with the owner and we decided to wait until she got home to take the kitty to the vet, and luckily the condition did not worsen over the several days that I pet sit for her and she wasn’t in any pain.
At this busy time, if any of these pet troubles strike you it can mean long hours, emergency clinic visits, and delayed pet sitting visits.
For this weeks Talk Back Tuesday tell me about your biggest pet sitting challenge this Thanksgiving by leaving a comment.
